State Council to launch investigation on copyright infringementsA crackdown on intellectual property rights infringements began last October, the crackdown focused on fake auto parts, mobile phones and food products in the Fujian, Zhejiang and Shenzhen.

State council will also launch inspections in its central and local government bureaus and businesses to ensure that these organizations are using legitimate software. China have already required local governments to use legitimate software. The government have already put aside funding for the purchase of legitimate software. The finance ministry departments will make sure of the financial guarantees. The agency currently in charge of the crackdowns, will also look into the long term management of capital budget, procurement, exploitation and misuse of State owned legitimate software.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also make a move in battling software piracy by requiring computer manufacturers to ship computers pre-installed with legitimate operating system software. The agency will also look into the recent infringements in pharmaceuticals which rampant in online trading. Game development and software will also be investigated, with fake cigarettes and cosmetics next on their list of infringements.
