Israel to expand cooperation with local Chinese high tech companies
During the opening ceremony of the Israeli Consulate General, Israel planned to expand its high tech cooperation with Guangdong Province as the economic powerhouse accelerates its development in the high tech and clean economy.
The new office opened in the Guangzhou Development center building covering the towns of Guangdong, Hainan, Fujian and Guangxi. During the opening ceremony Israeli Ambassador Amos Nadai and Consul General Avraham Nir exchanged ideas on how to further develop high tech cooperation with Gaundong Party chief Wang Yang and other senior officials. Also attending the ceremony was Ada Yonath the first Israeli woman to win the Nobel Prize for chemistry. The 70 year old was invited to share her scientific and research experience on understanding on how cells build proteins with Zhongshan School of Medicine in Guangzhou.
The Shenzhen Capital Group an IER Venture Capital have been working with Israeli companies for years increasing trade volume to US$ 1.38 billion last year a quarter more of Sino-Israeli Trade. A couple of Chinese companies and fairs have already initiated cooperation with Israel since the Consulate General office was established in Guangzhou last year.
