Round Two Of The Culture Club Talent Competition – Another awesome evening
The culture club in Futian hosted round two of it’s December talent competition on Saturday 11th December. The first round had seen no fewer than twelve contestants battle it out for a place in the final on January 1st, eventually Nora from America winning and been joined in the final by Violinist Maggie and Shenzhen’s serial talent competitor Lei feng!
People started arriving at the club on Saturday around 8pm and by 9pm there wasn’t a spare seat, Martin and Clarke the culture club owners were anticipating another superb evening.
We started off with Chinese songs from Yoyo and Maggie. Next came Alan, after losing in a play off to Lei feng in week one he knew he had to produce another special performance to make it to the final.
The next few songs were a mix of Frank Sinatra and Robbie Williams before a ‘star’ arrived, literally. Star was her name, all the way from Canada to sing in front of her friends and her mum. Star chose to sing Mercedes Benz and had the whole club singing and swaying along with her.
That concluded the evenings performances, eleven in total taking the combined entries from two weeks to twenty-three.
The judges now had to compile their scores and three more performers were chosen to perform in the final on 1st January. In third place, after singing Robbie Williams hit single ‘Angels’ was Nick from Leeds.
In Second place, after performing ‘Everything I do’ was Richard.
This week’s winner and sure to give Nora and the other finalists a run for their money in the final was ‘Star’. Star won a bottle of Australian wine and a hug from her mum.
Congratulations to our finalists and thank you to all the competitors, remember round three is this Saturday, 18th December from 8.30pm.
The talent competition is sponsored by The culture club, Aulon wine, Cheers Bar and Grill, Russian standard vodka and Macawleys Bar and Grill.
