U.S. Architect lends a hand in planning the Pingshan New ZoneU.S. architect and design Christopher L. Groesbeck stated that Shenzhen have unlimited possibilities in becoming a premier urban city, as long as Shenzhen continues to focus on creativity and open its doors to new ideas.

Groesbeck was impressed with Shenzhen’s numerous mountain parks, the Central Business District, the OCT-LOFT and prosperous shopping centers. Groesbeck a principal of VOA Architecture Design in Beijing was in town to give advise on the architectural planning in the Pingshan New Zone. Groesbeck said that the city architecture have three functions, visual, social and cultural, with these three functions Shenzhen distinguishes itself from other major chinese cities in terms of focusing on creativity and openness to new ideas.

Shenzhen is a young city and should not look on what it has done in the past, they should see what they can do in the future in building a socially and culturally active environment. Groesbeck leads a team of fourteen people at his Beijing company and is looking forward to cooperate with Shenzhen blue chip developers Vanke and Overseas Chinese Town Group.
