Irish Song and Dance, “Ragus the Show” Live in Shenzhen
A lively, fast-moving performance of traditional Irish music, song and dance will be featured in Shenzhen Poly Theater in Nanshan District. “Ragus the Show” which will be performed by FOM Productions from Ireland, is happening on Jan. 14 and 15.
Ragus (pronounced rah-goose) which means “urge” or “desire”, celebrated its 10th year last year from humble beginnings in Halla Ronan on Inis Mor. Ragus has grown from strength to strength with its touring entourage of up to 30 people, in demand on every continent of the world. Ragus has performed in Australia, the United States, Japan, South Africa and throughout Europe in the last three years.
Audiences will be moved by the haunting airs from the “sean nos” traditions of Connemara and the Aran Islands as they are interwoven with lively tunes and rhythmic dancing to create a truly memorable experience. Evoking times past, audiences will feel the pulse of a rich and vibrant musical heritage and come away with a truly enjoyable and unique Irish cultural experience.
