Shenzhen restaurants on most expensive list
A survey made by Dianping.com the country’s largest consumer Web Guide found out that Shenzhen restaurants were the second most expensive restaurants in the country only after Shanghai. Meals in Shenzhen restaurants costs 70 yuan a person and meals in Shanghai restaurants costs 88 yuan per person.
Survey conduct compared meal prices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other major cities. Beijing was the third most expensive restaurant with diner spending 67 yuan on average. The survey also showed that most people living Shenzhen preferred eating out with friends and meals purchased in restaurants were for gatherings. Survey also showed an increase on the number of couples prefer eating out rather than preparing meals at home. Consumers were also picking group meals since restaurants offer discounts for eaters in groups with each person only pay 57 yuan each for the meal.
Popular food choices were either Cantonese or Japanese food, and from the 50 popular restaurants in Shenzhen 60 percent serves Cantonese and Japanese food. this type of food choices are expensive with Cantonese food costing 97 yuan per person and Japanese food at around 127 yuan a person.
