Missing children recovered by Shenzhen police
Seventeen children and two women that were abducted last year were recovered by the Shenzhen police and caught 23 suspects involved in the abduction. 19 cases of abduction of women and children were reported in Shenzhen and two cases are remaining that are still under investigation.
The children abducted were mostly from urban villages, market and shopping centers and parents were migrant workers to busy to take care or look after their children. 30 percent of cases were children being sold by their parents who could not afford to raise their children, some were single mothers the can’t afford to care for their children alone. Parents or anyone caught kidnapping or selling children will face prison that will range from five to ten years.
Police were also able to find 125 children that were reported missing last year by collecting information and DNA samples from children found in the streets that were selling flowers, begging or cleaning cars. By collecting these information the police can help parents find missing children throughout the country.
