City to include quality in its five year growth program
Shenzhen mayor Xu Qin said that they will be targeting Shenzhen Quality in it 12th Five Year Program (2011-2015) after the success of Shenzhen speed in the past 30 years. The government work report was presented yesterday during the annual Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress session.
Improving livelihoods, having a sound legal system, rational urban layout and low carbon economy can help attain Shenzhen Quality and at the same time enhance the city’s social and economic development. 1,000 billion yuan will be spent in the span of five years in expanding the special economic zone, upgrading of the industry and improvements in the quality of life. National research centers and laboratories will also be constructed in the five year program. other projects that will help improve the quality of life are greenway projects, new energy generators, an development of inter city railway system.
City’s GDP is expected to grow around ten percent each year and might reach 1,500 billion yuan in 2015 with a per capita disposable income of 49,000 yuan. In 2010 Shenzhen was able to reach a GDP of 950 billion yuan an increase of eighty six percent from 2005, with a per capita disposable income of 32,200 yuan highest among Chinese cities.
