Culture industry to prioritize certain industries in its five year program
During the annual meeting of Shenzhen lawmakers, the city’s creative culture industry is expected to yield more than 250 billion yuan by the year 2015 in the city’s 12th Five Year Program. Some industries such as creative design, animation, digital audio and video, new media, digital publishing, film and TV will be given priorities
Cultural industrial bases will be accelerated and under the program the creative culture will be integrated with high technology and fashion. A member of the city advisory body suggested in his proposal that Shenzhen must boost exports of the two pillar industry of Shenzhen namely the local cultural industry and electronic information industry. The introduction and development of modern technology facilitated the integration of culture and technology.
A panel discussion said to help build Shenzhen into a culturally strong city, the city’s elite culture should increase their drive and by doing this it will increase the general public respect for culture. Social elites have the strongest sense of social responsibility thus creating a new understanding in regards to cultural development.
Shenzhen is also considering establishing a migrant worker archive that would record or keep electronic files of the city migrant workers lives who gave remarkable contributions to the city’s development. This will enhance workers recognition in Shenzhen.
