Daniel Ford named Executive Director of Communications for Marriott International in Asia Pacific
Marriott International has named Daniel Ford as the Executive Director of Communications for the Asia Pacific Region. This is a new position that has been developed to implement Marriott’s overall communications strategy throughout the region and further establish the company’s public relations support in Asia Pacific.
Ford, previously Regional Director of Public Relations for Marriott’s luxury brand, The Ritz-Carlton, will be responsible for PR and communications for all of Marriott’s brands in the region – including Ritz-Carlton which he will continue to oversee in addition to his new responsibilities.
“Daniel has been with the Ritz-Carlton for three years and has done a tremendous job in positioning the brand in Asia, especially in China, and raising the awareness of The Ritz-Carlton brand in the region and making it a first choice for luxury travellers in Asia,” commented Simon Cooper, Marriott’s President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific.
“I am confident that he will prove equally successful in further positioning Marriott International, its portfolio of lodging brands and executive leadership in the Asia Pacific region through strategic public relations programmes and communications to promote overall brand awareness and preference.”
Ford, who has previously held key management communications positions with InterContinental Hotels and Emirates Airline, takes up his position immediately and will continue to be based in Marriott International’s regional office in Hong Kong.
