SZ Dragons Training Last Week

SZ Dragons Training Last WeekVery good session last week, we had 14 people out and a big step in the right direction. Training consisted of Touch rugby whereby any stupid passing or breach of the rules was punished by sprints in the penalty box.

Good points were a lot of direct running and looking for gaps.

Points to work on: Our attention span and hands which caused a lot of dropped balls and in Attack we line up in a deep line.

Second half was a lot of punishing close quarter rucking and mauling which improved as the time went on and was a real physical workout.

Last night we had 3 newcomers, Ben from the Rugby stronghold of New York, hard as nails and willing to get stuck in; Byron Trump, originally from South Africa but now a fully fledged Aussie, with his own brand of bruising rugby, even drove from BAO AN for training, now that is commitment. Last but not least, is the Bulgarian basher Mak, who took to the dark art of rucking like a duck to water, “I  love it” he exclaimed. What more could you ask for?

Next week, we will have more people, miss it at your own loss, please confirm with me by Wed morning at the latest,

I have posted up the link for Player of the week here: http://www.szdragons.com/2011/01/player-profile-darragh-hudson/

Many thanks to Tim for the write up.

This week, we will be running a profile on Herve Le Prince as well as an interview with Charles Hill.

Feel free to send in your entries for Herve and as usual I will put up the best one.
