A family education group is not happy after a lot of parents revealed that were happy to see their children using their money on entertainment and other leisure activities. the group said instead of encouraging children to spend money on unnecessary things the parents should teach them on hoe to manage their money properly.
Parents with children from aged three to fifteen would allow their children to use their money they receive during the Lunar New Year on things they want and as they see fit. On a survey conducted seven out of ten children spend their money on entertainment and leisure activities, while the remaining uses their money wisely. Experts find it strange that the parents think that their children are spending their money wisely even if they know most of the money will just be spent on entertainment. Experts say that parents should encourage their children to save their money instead.
Parents should teach children the principles of spending, and sharing. Children should be advised to spend only on necessities and unused money should be saved. The Lunar New Year is a good time to teach children on the values of money since during this time a lot ot of children receive red packets or lai as presents.
