Job fairs to attract workers after the Spring Festival holiday
Shenzhen have organized 500 free job fairs for the 30,000 social organizations and companies. The job fair is offering 500,000 jobs this April after a labor shortage happen when people left early for the Spring Festival holidays.
A campaign named Spring Breeze was launched by the city’s human resources and social security administration. The Spring Breeze campaign invited 100 brand name companies to offer almost 10,000 in the human resource market. Other companies also invited to join the fair such as Moi and Shirble department stores, Suning, SEG, Hasee and Mission Hills Golf Club China.
65 percent of the jobs are available for the unskilled, and the remaining 40 percent covered jobs in the retail and catering, manufacturing and real estate and social services. The job fair also provided lectures on career planning, qualification tests and information for the interested migrant workers. Shenzhen will also organize 1,500 more companies to join upcoming job fairs that will offer work in the fields of computers, telecommunications, finance, construction, logistics and industries. OCT, Holpe and Selen Science & Technology are among the employers invited to join the fair.
The job fair was created in response to the labor shortage after the Spring Festival holidays, since many of the employers had a hard time hiring staff after the holidays, forcing companies to raise salaries to attract employees.
