Chinese tourists safe in New Zealand
The city government is glad to inform its residents that no Shenzhen tourists were stranded in New Zealand after the devastating earthquake in Christchurch on the South Island that left at least 75 people dead.
The tourism authority contacted local travel agencies to ask if there were any tour groups traveling to New Zealand just to know that there were none. The earthquake in New Zealand forced a tourist group on their way to Christchurch to change their route. The group was suppose to travel to Christchurch but after learning about the earthquake they changed their travel route.
There were also tour groups from Hong Kong that were traveling in New Zealand but was not affected by the earthquake, as told by the Hong Kong travel industry.
