Chinese citizens evacuated to different countries before flying back to China
Around 30,000 Chinese citizens have been evacuated from Libya and is China’s largest evacuation. The Chinese citizens have been working in various jobs in the Northern African State when the anti regime protest started.
Since yesterday 2,500 of the citizens were already en route back to China while the remaining citizens have been resettled in other third countries surrounding Libya while 3,400 are still finding their way to the third countries. There were also 10,000 Chinese evacuees found in the Greek island of Crete, 11,000 in the Tunisian Islands, 400 were found in Sudan and Dubai. All the evacuees in these locations are now waiting for planes to bring them home.
Two ocean liners were also chartered by the government of Chine to shipped out around 2,800 evacuees from Malta plus another Chinese vessel is heading to Crete to pick up the other evacuees to add to the 600 they already have on board. Passengers planes were also chartered to fly out Chinese evacuees from Libya and bring them to Khartoum or Dubai.
Chinese residents that remain in Libya will be either flown out or taken by land to Tunisia.
