University to pilot tutorial program for incoming students
South University of Science and Technology is now officially open and have registered 45 students to start schooling this year. with a goal of giving higher education reform the university is to pilot a tutorial program to help educational development among its students.
University professors and students will work together to conduct academic research, activity exchanges and campus events. Professors will act as counselors for every five students within the university premises.
The university’s biggest challenge is on how to properly train students since each of them have different ages and backgrounds. So the university decided to create a new way of teaching to steer the students and help them become great professionals in the future. For two years every students will study mathematics, computer science, English, engineering, humanities, physics, sports and social sciences before they are allowed to choose their majors.
Good teachers are selected from the 3,000 applicants worldwide, some prominent professors from around the world were invited to teach at the university full time. The school director also plans to invite teachers from the United States during his trip to Harvard University.
