In the 10th week of 2011, White Horse facilitated USD129,869.00 in reliable component purchases.

Week 10 saw more even lower overall quality levels than in Week 9, with significantly higher volume coming through the lab. This may be signalling that suppliers are “compensating” for a drop-off from last year’s boon of manufacturer shortages by trying to push more substandard product into the market.

  • Intel TN87C196CA, 5% failure (Date Code 0827) – failed blank-check. OTP devices, parts had been previously programmed.
  • Allegro Microsystems UCN5895EP, 28% failure (Date Code 0128) - unstable output and excessive heating.
  • Fairchild NDT452AP, 11% failure (Date Code 1016) – high on-state drain-source resistant, Rds(on), and low on-state drain current, Id(on).
  • Ramtron FM24C16A-G, 7% failure (Date Codes 0935 & 0939) - program and verify errors (the data written is not consistent with the buffer).
  • Burr Brown MPY534KD, 16% failure (Date Codes 1003 & 1005) – low output voltages.
  • Agilent/PMC Sierra HDMP-1022G, 10% failure (Date Codes 0629 & 0814) – open/short pins and bad protection diodes.
  • Agilent/PMC Sierra HDMP-1024G, 9% failure (Date Codes 0631, 0811, 0814, 0815, 0821, and 0831) – open/short pins and bad protection diodes.
  • Agilent/PMC Sierra HDMP-1022G, 10% failure (Date Codes 0732, 0740, 0742, 0750, 0751, and 0817) – open/short pins and bad protection diodes.
  • Agilent/PMC Sierra HDMP-1024G, 21% failure (Date Codes 0719, 0738, 0740, 0750, 0751, 0815, 0820, and 0821) – open/short pins and bad protection diodes.
  • Xilinx XC4010XL-2PQ100C, 20% failure (Date Code 0525) – programming failed on JTAG testing and Vcc shorted to ground.
  • Vishay SFH6943-3, 82% failure (no date code marked or labeled) – high collector emitter leakage current, shorts, and high/low current transfer, CTR.
  • International Rectifier IRFR3412PBF, 100% failure (Date Code 0015) – low gate-to-source threshold voltage, Vgs(th), high on-state drain-to-source resistance, Rds(on), high source-to-drain voltage, Vsd.
  • Atmel AT49SV322D-80TU, 100% failure (Date Code 0737) – failed program and verify (data written is not consistent with buffer).
  • Infineon SPD06N80C3, 100% failure (Date Code 0935) – high on-state drain-to-source resistance, Rds(on), above 15 ohms, and high source-drain voltage, Vsd, above 1.2 volts.

IXYS Corp IXTH96N20P, 100% failure (Date Code 0911) – high on-state drain-to-source resistance, Rds(on), above 40 micro ohms.
