Shenzhen leading in China’s IT industry
Party chief Wang Rong said during the opening if the 2011 China IT Leadership Summit, that Shenzhen wil be providing the best service and environment for developing the IT industry throughout China.
Wang spoke in front of 80 professionals that includes CEO’s of leading IT companies, government officials and scholars that were present during the one day summit for the Domestic IT industry. According to Wang, Shenzhen is a pioneer on the IT industry and is great in IT production, a leader in research and development, and an expert base and logistics center. The city government will continue to support further development of the industry.
Software technology development in Shenzhen will be promoted through telecommunications and the internet. the city is also planning to add more laboratories and research center this year. The turnover in the IT industry last year amounted to almost 896 billion yuan, accounting for 14 percent of the national total. The export industry was around 99 billion yuan and accounted for 50 percent of the city’s total.
The revenues from the software industry was 150 billion yuan last year, making the second highest in China.
