Residents reported a number of violations during traffic campaign
A total of 1,800 photos were received by the traffic police during their campaign that invited local residents to report any offenses that they can see. Residents were able to take photographs of offenses such as illegally changing lanes and illegal parking.
Most of the reports were either sent through MMS or email to traffic police, and already from the total offenses reported around 600 were already been punished and requirements have been met. Police launched the campaign last week that encourages residents to report traffic offenses by taking photographs.
Half of the total photos were all about illegal parking, but traffic police said that this type of offense is not included in their campaign. They are targeting reports on illegal lane changes or illegally occupying emergency lanes. Since then traffic police saw a decrease in traffic congestion during rush hours.
Police also reminded the residents who are reporting any offense is not to forget to include the location and time of the offenses along with the photos of the violations that they have taken.
