As of yesterday 30,000 traveling passengers and tourists have already passed through the new departure hall. Inbound and outbound travelers used to go through the 20 lanes on the first floor depature area. Now the frist floor hall is closed to undergo a series of renovations.

Once the renovations will be finished the number of lanes will reach 102 that can accommodate and handle around 120,000 travelers in a day. Extra parking spaces are also alloted to help ease the parking shortage that has been a problem of the checkpoint since. The renovations is expected to be done in June just in time for the Universiade games.

The checkpoint was previously designed to handle 60,000 trvelers but around 70,000 travelers is estimated to pass trough everyday to cross the border. When renovations are done, official hopes that the checkpoint can handle the travelers especially during occassiona nd holidays.
