A new look for SZ roads
Just 123 days to go before the opening of the much awaited Universiade that will be held in Shenzhen, China. Scheduled on August 12-23, 2011, Universiade is commonly referred to as World University Games or World Student Games. The word is a combination of the words University and Olympiad, it is an International multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
Highly anticipated, fences, bridges and roads signs at expressways, interconnecting roads and routes near Universiade sites, and key public spots are restructured and remodeled by the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Commission, aiming to enhance and spruce up the roads leading to the Universiade venues.
Since February this year, the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Commission started the beautification project spending 265 million yuan (US$40.75 million) to develop, clean and paint city structures to enhance it’s vibrant vista. All efforts are made by the host city, residents cooperated and even suggested more ideas to make sure that everything is perfect for the coming event.
