Rat Poison found in rice noodles
Tetramine contents were discovered from rice noodles by the Luohu District center for disease control and prevention (CDC) and the city’s quality supervision authority which sickens 8 people. Traces of the said poison (Tetramethylenedisulfotetramine) were found on rice noodles, that is used as a rodenticide. It is an organic compound that is odorless, tasteless white powder that is slightly soluble in water and when accidentaly combined with food for human consumption, can cause food poisoning or worst death.
8 workers were taken to the hospital with signs of food poisoning after eating rice noodles tainted with a lethal toxin bought at a food market in Luohu District. The workers were treated in Luohu District People’s Hospital and were brought into stable conditions. The authorities investigating the incident were looking into the possibility of foul play involved.
