Shenzhen’s tallest building: Kingkey 100

The tallest building in Shenzhen will soon be completed and opens in August, 2011, the Kingkey Group developer announced last Saturday. The Kingkey 100, set to be Shenzhen’s tallest building and landmark at 441.8 meters in height  in Caiwuwei, Western Luohu District, will surpass previous record holder, Diwang at only  383.95 meters. With 100 floors, the Kingkey 100, beautifully designed by TFP Farrells of London, will be marked as the eight highest building of the world.

Kingkey 100 will have the highest hotel in the city, the St. Regis with it’s 220,000 sq. meter floor area from the 75th to 100th floors that features the highest garden and restaurant which will be linked to KK mall with luxury brand stores, restaurants, and the city’s first IMAX Cinema. Kingkey 100 is not just  a landmark of the city but of China’s rapid growth and development of the past 30 years.
