A student from Shenzhen University leads the Universiade flame lighting
A student from Shenzhen Universiade was the one who led the other four foreigner students in lighting the Universiade flame at Qinghua University yesterday. Li Luya, 2o years of age, student of the English department, said it was a big dream come true for her to play a leading role in lightning Shenzhen’s Universiade 2011 flame.
Li, born in Jilin Province and later moved on to Shenzhen at the age of 3, was one of the first selected student of ceremony volunteers for the Universiade 2011 that will be held on Shenzhen, and last April 20, she was informed that she is the selected one to be the torchbearer.
It was a big honor for her to represent Asian at the Universiade ceremony, said Li.
