Designers exchanged ideas in Cultural Industries Fair
Former design director for Daimler Benz, Harald Leschke said that designers in Shenzhen must give more consideration in creating their low carbon in their creations during the 7th China International Cultural Industries Fair.
Leschke spoke in a symposium attended by well known designers from locally and internationally, with all exchanging their personal views in the ever developing design industry. Low carbon concept is fast becoming a major trend in modern design. The new designers are practicing the concept by choosing materials and the way the design concept is realized.
To produce a good design one should not depend on creativity alone, since each person is creative in his or her own different fields. Each designer must have their own professional skill, and knows how to express them through sketches, concepts and modeling.
One professor also called attention to the lagging design education, saying Chinese students are lacking motivation and responsibility in designing. Most of the students rely too much on using computers in doing their designs. Freehand drawing in pre design stages will also result in good designs.
