Drunk Driving Offenders to go through Fingerprinting
Drunk drivers caught under the new ruling will be subjected to finger printing to serve as evidence of driving dangerously. This way, traffic police can monitor and check any criminal offenses they have done on the road.
Finger print collection is one of the measures taken by the police to prevent the suspects from denying any responsibilities in any accidents that they are involved in. In this way the suspects can still be identified even when they leave their vehicles behind during accidents or driving under the influence.
The fingerprints will serve as evidence when the drivers are being tried in court. A driver caught last Sunday was the first to be fingerprinted when he was caught dunk driving near Shennan Road in Louhu District.
