Exports Surge to All-Time High
From the months of January to April, exports in Shenzhen surged to 46 percent, a great deal faster than China’s total average exports. Shenzhen customs also reported that exports reached US $75 billion.
This shows that there is a trade surplus increase to US $21 billion, a margin of 61.2 percent. The total trade volume of imports and exports amounted to US $129 billion, 44.6 percent more than the same period last year; it is also 16 percent higher than the national average and 14 percent higher than Guangdong.
The city’s most popular exports are mobile phones, laptop computers, and game consoles, import and exports of processing also contributed to the increase in which it earned US $ 72 billion dollars in just four months. Private companies also contributed US $40 billion to the import and export earning as well.
A lot of ASEAN countries are now surpassing American and European countries in imports. Shenzhen is fast becoming one of the biggest sources of bilateral trade reaching US $ 12 billion in Asia alone.
