More People Using Mobile Phones with Prices Dropping
By the end of April China will have 900 million mobile phone users, nearly two-thirds of the world’s most populous nations that are using cellular phones. China’s mobile phone users grew by 41 million in the first quarter of 2011, this brought the total number of users to 900.39 million according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Phone usage in china increased as prices of handsets and services charges have dropped, plus new technologies keep arriving, further increasing sales. According to China’s telecommunication industry there was a 9.4 percent growth every year and the business is already valued at 308 billion yuan. In addition the introduction of 3G added more users of mobile phones, already reaching 67 million.
Not only was there an increase in mobile phone users, Internet users in china have also been gradually increasing with 457 million users reached by the end of 2010, already reaching 477 users by March this year. This means that one third of China’s 1.3 billion population are spending more time online.
