Grade 9 Week Without Walls A Trip to rural Guangdong
They were led by Dragonfly outfitters and the Grade 9 advisors, Robyn Lynch, Victoria Robins, Mark McElroy, and Brendon Breen.
Students focused on their ESLRs by taking part in various activities. The activities included, caving, teambuilding activities, rock climbing, biking, and camping with the students building their own shelters to sleep in.
One highlight was a half day of teaching English at a local school. SIS students prepared lessons and games for the Chinese students. We were a big hit with students treating some of us like ‘rockstars.’
We also presented the school with a computer, printer and some teaching supplies. To provide these items our students fundraised the money by working together in a creative fashion.
Great fun was had by all!
