Security to use metal detectors at NCEE venuesSecurity will be using metal detectors at examination venues of the National College Entrance Examinations in Shenzhen. This is the first time that the education authority is requiring metal detectors.

Students are asked to come early at least 30 minutes before the examination since the checks will run for ten minutes and they will still have plenty of time and will not be late before examinations starts. A monitoring center is put up and is connected to all 35 examination schools and the examination center and Ministry of Education in Guangdong.

Shenzhen taxi service association have organized 800 taxis that will provide free rides for students to the NCEE venues, more than 200 students have already availed the free taxis that will pick them up near their homes. If any vehicles carrying students will be involved in minor accidents the vehicles will be allowed to bring the students to the examination venues before dealing with ay of the traffic investigation. The drivers will need to report the accident to the traffic police and they need to include the student’s information and the examination permit serial numbers. Police vehicles will be parked near examination venues in case students will need assistance.

The NCEE or gaokao is the largest standardized test taken by Chinese students every year, with 9 million students registering for the exams this year. The ministry of education has also established a inspection group to supervise the test and have the authority to punish anyone cheating or violating examination rules. The group will be watching out for any students using any forms of wireless communications such as cellphones of Internet during the examinations.
