PSA—we thank you!

PSA—we thank you!“Middle School Rocks” is a phrase that is often heard at Bayside, and on Friday once again Middle School truly rocked as Stuco hosted their final event of the year; the much awaited semi-formal dance. Stuco began planning this event many months ago and the success of the evening would not have been possible without the help and hard-work of our PSA. Molly Lysenko and Jeanetta Robinson spent many hours helping make the initial idea of a secret agent theme become a reality as they and the other PSA volunteers transformed the ground floor of Bayside.

The entrance area became an ‘outside café’, complete with flowers, candles and twinkling lights. Students ate canapés served by their teachers and mingled, chatting and laughing while enjoying the ambience. There was an official photography area where guests queued to have their photograph taken under the black and white balloon arch standing next to life-size models of James Bond.

The exclamations of delight were huge as the curtains opened and the students poured into the dance area that had been changed into the lounge of the Hotel de Paris for the night, complete with disco ball, soft seating areas, silhouettes and carefully designed lighting. Students, dressed in their finery danced the night away, enjoying all the touches that PSA had worked so hard on, no detail was too small, and the end result was magnificent.

We, at middle school are extremely grateful for all the help PSA have given us throughout the year, each dance we have watched in awe as the amphitheater is transformed for Halloween, Valentines Day, Spring Fling and the largest of our events – the Semi-Formal. We would like to extend our thanks to all of you who give up your time to help the students have fun. PSA you rock!
