New Roads to Connect to Shenzhen North Railway Station
Ten roads surrounding the Shenzhen North Railway Station have now opened and will connect the railway to surrounding Metro stations, relieving traffic congestion in and around the Meilin Checkpoint. The ten roads consist of three truck roads, a branch road, and subsidiary roads.
Liuxian Boulevard starts near Tongle Road, West of Nanshan District and will be extending Eastward to Meilong Road in Longhua. The Boulevard is considered a major trunk road that connects Nanshan and Bao’an Districts. It is also one of the East-West trunk roads that follows Binhai Boulevard, Shennan Boulevard, Nanping Expressway and Beihuan Boulevard. It also connects with Shenzhen North Railway Station to Futian CBD by using Fulong Road. Xinqu Boulevard is a North-South road that starts from Heping road and ends in Meiguan Flyover located at Nanping Expressway near Meilin Checkpoint.
The ten roads will connect with Metro lines 4 and 5 that are scheduled to open in the next couple of weeks to prepare for the opening of the Shenzhen North Railway Station in August. The station is considered one of the most important hubs for the Beijing-Guangzhou-Hong Kong high speed passenger railway and the Shenzhen-Xiamen high speed railway.
