White Horse Laboratories Week 22 Counterfeit Detection Report
Inspection: 74% Accept Testing: 75% Pass
Following stabilizing in Week 21, Quality levels regained ground in Week 22. Electrical testing results improved from 65% in Week 21 to 75% in Week 22 and inspection acceptance rates climbed to 74% from Week 21′s 69% level.
Not surprisingly, shipping volumes improved a moderate 5% with the improved yields.
We saw five part numbers with a 100% failure in sample testing, indicating entire lots of devices that are not authentic or are non-functional. It is uncommon to see such high concentrations. Most rejected lots tend to be “mixed bags” of devices and several of Week 22′s 100% failures had mixed results, indicating the lot was comprised of multiple device types with none of them meeting the specifications of the required devices.
PMC Sierra HDMP1022G (Date Codes 0742 & 0951) – 36% failure – open, short pins and bad protection diodes.
PMC Sierra HDMP1024G (Date Code 0820) - 41% failure – open, short pins and bad protection diodes.
