Auctioneers China Guardian has been setting records and highlighting lows sales of the rare wood. The wood have the texture akin to rosewood is becoming one of the most desirable pieces of Chinese art. Huanghuali furniture prices have been increased in the past twenty years, and there are around 10,000 pieces of the furniture can be found worldwide.

Huanghuali means yellow pear tree flower is only produced in china southern Hainan Island. It’s a high density wood with a very elevated oil content that protects the tree from humidity. Specialist on the furniture said that the wood grain is very beautiful, and soft to touch.

Hanghuali is considered a high value and very prized wood that is usually reserved for making furniture for the high court, and the wealthy and elite of the classes. The increase in huanghuali prices can be account for the increasing number of millionaires in china that are eager to put on display their massive wealth by trying to buy everything rare or considered highly valuable.
