Huawei Employees to Receive Ten Percent Salary Increase
Following suit with a number of other Shenzhen-based companies, including Foxconn and others, Huawei Technologies will implement their salary increase plans for its employees this year. Around 40,000 of their lower and mid level employees had already received pay raises by 11 percent during the first six months of this year.
The rest of their employees will begin receiving their raises by the second half of this year, with pay raises expected to be within the 5 to 10 percent level. Previous reports said that the company might revise salary plans to cope with wages since the telecommunication industry was affected by the recession.
These salary increases disperse the rumors that the company has no plans for salary increase for its employees this year. Huawei have been giving yearly salary increase to its employees every year, save 2002 when the economy was not at its best. Still the company has given raises to their employees since their salary system is based on long term projects.
In the 2010 company report on social responsibility, statistics showed that Huawei had invested around 1.9 billion yuan for their employees welfare, benefits and insurance.
