Dedicated Metro Line for the Universiade Venues Now Open
Metro Line 3′s underground section, better know as the Universiade line is now open for its first test runs. According to the Metro company the 42 kilometer line operates from Yitian Station in Futian and runs towards Shuanglong Station in Longgang. The railway opens its doors at 6:30 am and closes at 11 pm.
This router is the only metro line that connects downtown Shenzhen to the main Universiade Venues. The train departs every ten minutes in its off-peak hours, and six minutes in its peak hours. Fare is set at 8 yuan and the trip takes seventy minutes.
Passengers riding on Line 3 can then transfer to Line 1 at Laojie Station, which is expected to handle around 300,000 passengers a day making it the busiest station in Shenzhen. City officials said that opening this Line would help the economy in the Buji, Henggang and Longgang subdistricts.
Reporters were invited to see the Futian station since it was part of the Shenzhen Futian Transport Hub. In this station passengers can also choose from other lines that will bring them to their destinations.
