Peng Shuai to play in Wimbledon Quarterfinals

Peng Shuai to play in Wimbledon QuarterfinalsChina’s Peng Shuai will be playing in the quarterfinals if she will win her match against Maria Sharapova. Peng is at her best form since her appearance in the Australian Open.

Peng is also the remaining Chinese player after French Open winner Li Na was beaten by Sabine Lisicki of Germany, Zheng Jie also bowed out after being defeated by Misaki Doi of Japan in the second round.  Peng is currently ranked 20 in the world ranking the highest rank player without a winning title to her name.

Peng will  face 2004 Wimbledon winner Sharapova, fresh from her third round. Peng said this will be the second time she’ll be facing Sharapova after their match at the Indian Wells WTA tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California March 17, 2011 and she will give all her best and try to win against her.

In a different story Li Na was taken out of the completion after her loss to Lisicki, Li made errors in making to set points and was defeated by the speedy servings of Lisick in a 3-6, 6-4, 8-6 match point loss.
