Summer Trips Around Shenzhen

Summer trips around ShenzhenSummer has already arrived in Shenzhen and it’s time to do some great outdoor activities at the beautiful seaside areas that are surrounding our city. Etnik travel has experience in organizing hiking and bike trips for foreigners living in Shenzhen.

Already, dozens of trips have been successfully organized in the past few months; for the month of July 2011 we propose 2 very interesting trips: 9/10th of July,  a bike trip to Turtle Bay (Huizhou) a fantastic beach area, the only one in China where Sea Turtles go to lay their eggs.

This trip will be by bike along the coast and we will spend several hours just bathing in the blue sea of this pristine area. We also will visit the old town of Pinghai and have dinner on the beach with a firework show. The cost is 980 RMB per person and includes hotel, 3 meals, transportation, bike rental and guide fee. On the 23rd of July we are planning a hike in Hong Kong’s Geopark in the New Territories.

We will start from the tiny village of  Hoi Ha and will explore the central part of the famous Mac Lose trail, with great views on the seaside and possibilities to take a bath when we will arrive at the beaches along the trail. The cost is 250 rmb for person and  includes transportation and guide fees. For more information send a request to M.loglio@gmail.com

The Contributor

Marco Loglio was born in Northern Italy. Shortly after he arrived in Shenzhen in the early 1990’s, he realized that next to the busy city center where over 10 million people live and work, there are still untouched areas where one can relax, enjoy spectacular scenery, visit abandoned villages, forests, waterfalls, lakes, and even see rare animals.

It is while conducting hiking and cycling groups in these areas for nearly 10 years that Marco decided to compile and share his knowledge in a single volume: “Shenzhen Hikes.”

Marco is an well-known Italian author and has published articles in various Chinese newspapers, including Shenzhen Daily.
