Taiwanese Companies Profiting with Businesses in Shenzhen
Taiwanese companies doing business in Shenzhen have reported profit gains during the 21st anniversary celebration of the Taiwan Merchant’s Association in Shenzhen. All 5,000 Taiwanese companies have seen great successes and together have achieved an export total of US$ 50 billion.
Since last year the Taiwanese companies have invested US$ 6.1 billion, with some of them having expanded to other forms of business and industrial chains. Shenzhen is one of the mainland cities to get a majority of Taiwanese investment and have seen a centralized distribution of companies ranging from high tech enterprises to giant conglomerates.
The Taiwan Merchant’s Association Shenzhen is the first non government organization established in Shenzhen. Opened in 1990 the organization has 2,000 members and is involved in the promotions of economic and trade exchange between the two regions, helping attracting cities in Taiwan to make investments in Shenzhen.
The organization has also held various charity works that lead the organization members to donate almost 200 million yuan to places struck by natural disaster. Member companies have also built schools in the Heilongjiang, Jiangxi and Guangdong province in addition to subsidizing education for 1,000 students.
