Metro service a great way to get around ShenzhenThe Metro service in Shenzhen has already gone a long way, in just two weeks they have opened five new lines, linked bus and port terminals as well as provided an environment friendly way of getting around Shenzhen while at the same time promoting business located along the rail lines.

When working at full capacity the Metro rails can transport more than five million passengers a day in the near future, which only shows that in time, residents will be choosing the easiest way to get around Shenzhen and possibly reduce the use of cars and other vehicles. the Metro lines will also integrate the special economic zone by linking it with the rail system of Guangdong and the national rail network.

Metro rail have already built three major transport hubs. By the end of the year, passengers will be able to take high speed trains that will bring them to Beijing and Xiamen through Shenzhen North Railway Station. By 2014 they will be able to ride the rail at the Futian Station that will bring them to Hong Kong. The Metro has 118 stations with 47 of them scattered in Longgang and Bao’an Districts.

With this wide network of railway systems, the Metro will help the city in its efforts to improve urban management, promote industrial layouts while at the same time reduce transportation costs for some businesses.
