Qualified Physicians Can Now Open Clinics in Pilot Cities
The Ministry of Health will be allowing individuals to established their own private clinics in several pilot cities starting July. The pilot programs will run from July 1st until June 30th 2012 in the Liaoning province, Jilin Province, Fujian and and Yunnan Provinces. Interested individuals that apply or ask permission to set up their own clinics must be a certified physicians.
They must also have at lest five years of work experience in a health care or medical facility after they earned their physician’s license. The ministry also said that the applicants must be healthy, unemployed or retired before they can open their own clinic.
Services offered by the private clinics must also be approved by the Ministry of Health and be related with the physicians’ background or field of practice. The clinic must also meet the standards implemented by the Ministry of Health. Experienced doctors are also encouraged to open clinics that specialize in traditional Chinese medicines.
