Ports Will Undergo Security Checks During the Universiade

Ports will undergo security checks during the Universiade gamesThe Shenzhen Marine Administration together with other government departments will establish a mechanism that will tighten security and aquatic inspections to ensure the safety of guests and visitors during the Universiade.

The marine administration will set up five mobile inspection stations namely, Chiwan Bay, Dapeng Bay, Daya Bay and Fanshi water way. Further cooperation will be needed to ensure public safety and Transport and fishery agencies must thoroughly inspect all water vessels traveling in and out of these bays.

Three levels of inspection will be established and accompanied with random checks of vessels that are traveling in Shenzhen and Huizhou ports. Authorities will impose a second level inspection to all unlicensed vessels, boats and ferries that travels between Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao.

During the Universiade, all vessels that travel in the jurisdiction of the Shenzhen Marine Administration, including shipping vessels carrying containers will be inspected. An average of 550,000 vessels travel through Shenzhen and Huizhou port areas every year.
