Shenzhen American International School – Introduction to the New Futian Campus

SAIS’s new campus is located in the Meilin area of Futian, not far from the Rainbow Mall. The building is in final stages of renovations at this time.

The new school will offer 25 spacious classrooms which are between 800 to 900 square feet, a large multi-purpose room (lunchroom), a beautiful, well equipped library and research center, teacher workrooms, science and language labs, large music room, outdoor athletic and play areas, one which is set aside for the primary children, and school offices.

The music room is very light and airy, with a large number of windows. It is located on the roof, to control the sound, so as not to disturb other classes. It will house our band, orchestra and chorus.

The lower floors of the building are reserved for the lower grades which provides easy access to the playground and lunchroom.

The athletic area includes a rock climbing wall, basketball courts, foursquare, hop scotch and a variety of games and activities that our students may choose from. The primary play area will include play structures appropriate for the sizes and ages of the younger children.

The sixth floor of the building will house the Han Ban Center and Language Acquisition Center. These areas will be used after school, evenings and weekends. With the availability of a larger multi-purpose room we foresee an increase in after-school and evening activities for parents and students.
