Visitors Will be Limited to Ensure Security at Dameisha Beach

Visitors will be limited to ensure security at Dameisha beachDameisha will be limiting the number of visitors that will be allowed to use the beach to a maximum of 10,000 people a day until August, a fraction of the 100,000 that often frequent the beach on a hot weekend afternoon. This is to ensure the security of the participants for the 2011 National Beach Volleyball Tournament and for the Universiade Beach Volleyball events.

The national tournament is part of the Shenzhen leg that will be on July 8 to 10 composed of 61 teams from 13 provinces. This annual tournament has the highest level of competition and 118 competitions taking place over a period of three days and will slim down to the final eight.

The matches in Shenzhen will follow the procedures for the summer Universiade program, organizers said that all of the games will be played in the daytime. Organizers are also giving away tickets for free though can only be purchased at the volleyball venue.

Traffic controls will be implemented on all roads going to Dameisha with police  using the odd and even numbered vehicles on alternating days starting in August. Permits will also be issued to residents, government vehicles and enterprises that are located in the Da/XiaoMeisha area. Those vehicles without permits will not be allowed to enter the area.
