Tickets for Universiade Now on Sale
China Merchants Bank started selling tickets for the Universiade yesterday at all of its 31 branches. Tickets were also sold in China Merchants Banks located in Dongguan, Guangzhou, Beijing, Foshan and Shanghai.
Tickets can also be purchased at any Shenzhen Airlines ticketing office, Youyi bookstores in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen concert hall and Shenznhn Poly Theater. Buyers can also purchase online by visiting www.szpiao.com.cn.
In purchasing tickets buyers must first present their id cards and tickets for popular sports will be limited to two per person to prevent ticket scalping. For the less popular sports, a person can obtained five tickets. Ticket prices range from 30 yuan to 300 yuan, which is dependent on the popularity of the sports that the resident is watching.
1.8 million tickets are available for sale accounting for sixty five percent of the total number of tickets available. The remaining tickets will be distributed to athletes, coaches, sponsors and media staff. Tickets will be cheaper than the tickets sold during the Beijing Olympics and Asian Games. Ticket sellers are not sure if there will be tickets for the opening and closing ceremony to be sold; the ceremonies are among the highlights of the Games. In cases an event is canceled, residents can get a refund or replace the ticket for another event.
