Beach Goers Charged Higher Fees for Showers at Dameisha
Visitors going to Dameisha have been surprised at the unexpected increase of fees for using the public showers located at the beach. One resident complained that she was charged higher than the amount that was stated when using the shower.
The cashier manning the shower stalls is asking users to pay ten yuan per person despite the published amount of six yuan. The cashier provided a six yuan ticket along with two packets of shampoo and shower gel. The cashier said that the extra four yuan was for the packets of shampoo and shower gel but visitors using the showers were not given the option to refuse the amenities.
Many residents brought friends and relatives to Dameisha as it is a public park and admission is free, but to their surprise a lot of them were being charged to use the public facilities such as shower rooms, changing rooms, lockers and luggage storage.
Park officials are saying that the city pricing authority have not made any changes to the price and it should not be changed, but that the showers at the park had been leased to a private businessman.
