Road Works Completed in Time for Universiade Countdown
All expansion projects connected to the Shuiguan Expressways have finally been completed just days before the 30-day countdown for the Universiade games. The flyover in the south of Longgang’s CBD is one of the key projects that will divert traffic arriving and leaving the Athletes Village and Longgang Sports Center.
The Shuihe Flyover connects Shuiguan Expressway to Jihe Expressway, Longxiang Boulevard and Longgang North Passage. The Shenzhen transport commission started building the flyover and is expected to improve the traffic flow for the Longgang CBD.
Vehicles traveling to Futian and Nanshan coming from the city east will cut eight kilometers from the journey when taking the Shuiguan and Nanping expressways using the Shuihe Flyover. The flyover is a specially designated lane that will be used by Universiade vehicles. Shenzhen will be assigning a special vehicle lane exclusively for game vehicles on eleven roads which include Qingping Expressway, Beihuan and Binhe boulevards, as well as Nigang and Xinzhou roads.
