Song Release Marks Countdown to the Universiade

Song release marks countdown to the Universiade gamesDuring a grand celebration at the Universiade stadium in Longgang, the theme song entitled “Start Here” was released. The release of the song also marks the 30-day countdown until the opening of the games.

The song features combinations of slow and fast tempo, and has stood out among the 800 original songs submitted for review since 2008. The theme song perfectly reflects the city’s image and the spirit of the games. Thirty one more songs were chosen by experts and by online votes that will also be used during the games.

The celebration featured different cultural performances, and was attended by hundreds of people  involved in the Universiade organizations, medical care, voluntary service and public security. All those present in the celebration are eagerly waiting for the games to start and all of them have agreed that they are ready to handle anything that will be thrown at them during the games.

Even with proper training and experience, the real challenges will face them during the games, which are only thirty days away. Volunteers are confident that they will be giving their all in the games that will make it a success. And in just four months the 52 venue operations teams were able to complete their training and testing, and are fully prepared for the games.

Later this month the Universiade venues will be sealed off to the public, City Party chief Wang Rong, extended his gratitude to all of those who were involved in preparing for the games and has called on the city’s residents to involve themselves more and to use public transportation to create a better environment for the games and decrease traffic congestion.
