Aulon Hosts Australia’s Winegrower of the Year in Dongguan
Nick Haselgrove, Australia’s current winegrower of the year, was the guest speaker at a wine -tasting event at the Pullman Hotel, Dongguan, on July 6th . The evening was hosted by the Aulon Wine Company and attended by eighty of Dongguan’s business leaders. This was the first major event for the Aulon Wine Company since it opened its Dongguan franchise in February of this year. Nick, who is a third generation winegrower, explained his history, achievements and passion for winegrowing.
Then during the tasting of eight varieties of his award-winning Shiraz and Chardonnay he gave an enlightening commentary. Next, three lucky-draw ticket holders each received a complimentary bottle of Nick’s Old Faithful Café Block Shiraz 2005 (Winner of Winestate Magazine’s 2007 World’s Best Shiraz Challenge) priced at RMB18,000.
After the buffet, all attendees received two free bottles of Nick’s award winning Blackbilly brand; a Shiraz and a Chardonnay. The elegant décor and soft music provided an ideal setting to showcase some of Australia’s finest wines.
