SACS Grand Summer Tour 2011
We combine two of the “must see” destinations within China on our summer exploration tour.
Start your journey with a flight from Shenzhen to Xi’an. Discover the Ancient Xi’an City with visits to the Shaanxi History Museum, the famous Terracotta Warriors and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After a couple of days in Xi’an we will catch an evening flight to Golmud, where we will stay overnight in order to catch the train at 5:00 the next morning for our 14 hour rail journey to Lhasa. This train ride will take us through the most stunning scenery along the way.
In Lhasa we will stay at the famous Dhood Gu Hotel -traditional Tibetan style accommodation. Our tour includes visits to the magnificent and justifiably world- famous Potala Palace, once the seat of the Tibetan government and the winter residence of the Dalai Lama, the 1300 year old Jokhang Temple, the spiritual centre of Tibet, Barkhor Street, which is a street of traditional Tibetan buildings that encompasses the Jokhang Temple and Norbulingka, the former summer residence of the Dalai Lama.
The last two days will be spent at Nam-tso Lake, with overnight accommodation in a simple guest house. On the last day we will catch a flight back from Lhasa to Shenzhen.
8 x nights hotel accommodation including breakfast, lunch, dinner, motor coach transportation, entrance fees to all tourist sites, flight from Xian to Golmud, train journey from Golmud to Lhasa in a soft seater, program as described, insurance, Tibet Entry Permit, Government Tax, English speaking tour guide and SACS Tour Escort.
